Today was a really weird day. I returned to the Great Wall (长城) but I had a very different time there then I did the first time I went last year, I still had a good time it was just very different. I did not go to the end of the south side of the wall this time. I went part of the way south, then turned around and returned north because one guy in our group said there was a slide down. There actually was a slide down and it was kind of terrifing in that Jersey Shore "I think this ride is held together with ductape qnd I don't know how long it will stay together" kind of way.

oops, sorry about previous comment. The slide, Olympic and bear pictures did not initially load on my cellphone. Now I have seen them and are satisfied.

I know the Aquatic Center is now a indoor pool/water park type of attraction. I don't know if that is the best use of space but that is its use. It appeared that the Bird's Nest still had ticket counters and could host events, I don't believe it gets a lot of use. Apparently the Bird's Nest makes money by selling tickets to walk around the arena for 50RMB a pop.

Great Pictures. Felt I was there, without the chance to taste the food, unfortunately.

Jared, what's the deal with the bears? And the slide actually comes off the wall? Seems sacriligeous!

To be honest I don't really know my self. a tourist thing I guess but it seems kind of expensive and somewhat dangerous. It starts on a platform that connects to the highest point on the North Wall and goes to the exit with the bears. It is kind of weird but very Chinese.
